Episode 210 | A Conversation on Mental Health with Dr. Meadows
Episode 005 | A Conversation on Mental & Emotional Help with Brittany Phillips, LAPC, NCC
This week in the news and on social media I have seen some heavy hearts and witnessed the effects of silent pain. In just the last few days I have witnessed a young man threaten suicide because life was too heavy, one of my favorite designers, Kate Spade committed suicide and I watched a successful woman who was feeling the weight and pressure of life so much so she had to pull over and just cry. She fortunately reached out to a counselor and family for help. These are just a few examples we can see but there are so many more hurting people we don't even know are hurting. This week we are doing a rewind. Each season I am led to discuss this subject of mental health and have a real conversation about it. I hope you will listen in to Dr. Meadows (Season 2) and Brittany Phillips (Season 1) and be encouraged in your life journey that help is here and available. If you are feeling broken or hurting... please listen. If you are ok, but concerned about a family member or friend...please listen. We can't ignore the problems and pressures of life...now is the time to have a conversation about them.
In Season 1, one of our highest downloaded shows was one on mental health. This resonated with me and I knew we had to have another conversation about such an important subject. In this episode, Dr. Meadows joined me for an enlightening conversation on a subject that is often overlooked, but cannot be ignored. I heard him speak with clarity and passion on the subject and knew we needed to have a conversation with him. We cover a gamut of information including warning signs, different types of help available, how to begin the conversation with friends and family and the pre-care of making time for you in this journey of life.
What a candid and enlightening conversation about a subject too often we overlook or ignore. Brittany walks us through her journey of becoming a counselor and her God assignment to spend her life helping people feel less broken!
